Lesson Outline

  1. Supine, fingers interlaced behind head, legs long
Lift the head with small movements
Attend to breathing out, inhaling whilst head on floor; attend to abdominal contraction
  2. Prone, right hand on left, forehead on hand back
    Lift head, hand and arm
    Exhale to lift
  3. Change hands
Sense the front neck muscles are free, not contracted
Allow the head to move behind the shoulders. “With many, that ability does not exist. They lift the head, with the shoulders, and there isn’t any movement in the top vertebrae.”
  4. Prone, lift the head with both hands and arms
Let the muscles of the throat be soft, so the head can move relative to the shoulders
  5. Supine, interlace the fingers in the non-habitual way, put the hands behind the head
Lift the head to the right, move it to the left, go down to the floor, and move to the right, make a circle
Stop and start again from the beginning. Bend to the side to start. Let the elbows be parallel to the floor the whole time
  6. Change the direction
  7. Prone, right palm on crown of head, forehead rests on left hand
Without lifting the left hand, lift the head, guide it to the right, lower to the floor, move it left, lift it, move it right

Feel the floating ribs on the right press the floor
  12. Same position
Lift the head and make a circle, going backwards first. Elbow points always to the ceiling. Nose faces forwards
  13. Change direction
  14. Same on the other side. First lifting and then circles
  15. Supine, legs long, turn the face to the right, right ear on floor if possible, on the left hand
Lift the head and hand from the floor
“The chest will twist. On one side the chest works more”
