Synopsis
- Supine, one knee bent, lift the hip, slide the hand towards or under the heel
Lesson Outline
- Join the legs. Attend to the effort
- Spread the legs. Stand the right foot, right palm upwards
- Lift the right hip
- Stay lifted on the right, look at the right hand, lengthen the right hand down
- Do it on the other side
- Stand the left foot, lift the left hip,
- Look at the left hand; lengthen the hand down
- Stand the left foot, lift the left hip,
- First side: Stand the right foot, lift the hip, lengthen right hand to heel, hold heel in hand
- Lift the toes and forefoot (but not the heel)
- Also fast
- Lift the toes and forefoot (but not the heel)
- Do it on the second side: stand the left foot, lift hip, hold heel in hand
- Lift the toes and forefoot
- Also fast
- Lift the toes and forefoot
- Stand the right foot, lift the right hip, hold the heel in the palm
- Look at the right hand; move the knee away
- Continue: hold the mid foot in the right hand
- Lift the toes then foot; also faster
- Do it on the left side: stand left foot, lift left hip, stand heel on left hand,
- Look at left hand, move the knee away
- Continue: hold the mid foot in the left hand
- Lift the toes then foot; also faster
- Stand the right foot, introduce thumb beneath foot to hold big toe
- Lift the right hip, look at the right hand, now allow right knee to drop inwards
- Do it on the elft side: stand left foot, introduce thumb under foot and hold big toe; lift hip, also drop left knee inwards
- Stand the right mid foot on the right hand
- Move right knee left and right
- Also, introduce the thumb underneath to hold big toe, repeat the knee leaning
- Do on the left side; stand the left mid foot on the left hand, move left knee right and left
- Also, introduce the thumb underneath to hold big toe, repeat the knee leaning
- Stand both feet, lift the pelvis up and down
- Also move the body left and right to feel C7 on the floor
- Also turn the head in the direction opposite to the movement
- Just lift and lower the pelvis
- Compare the ease of reaching the hand to each heel now
- Stand and walk

- The Mia and Gaby lesson (11) focusses on the opposite arm lengthening upwards. But in this lesson, firstly the arm is not by the ear, and secondly the focus is on near side flexion. (Ben P)
