- Reel 24, Track 3, Lesson 4
- Duration of the recording: 41 minutes
Synopsis
- Seated, arch the back and lean it backwards with the legs and arms in various positions. A lesson challenging both because the movement and the seated / lying positions will be difficult for “the average person”, and also because the instructions lack clarity at many times. (I am happy for someone to add more focus to this synopsis.) (BenP)
Lesson Outline
- Sitting, lean backwards. Also with the arms in various configurations, including crossed on chest, hands crossed behind back, hands on hips, hands behind head. Also descending backwards to the floor on one side, and circling to come up on the other side. Also lifting, or bending, or lengthening the legs in the act of leaning backwards and returning to vertical. Also on the knees, back extended, bringing forehead to floor with the arms in various configurations. (BenP)

- A difficult lesson. Extension of the back whilst sitting with straight or bend legs!! Also, to transition between sitting and lying with a long back, very challenging IMHO. Great lack of clarity in the instructions.
- Why is the lesson called elbows and knees, when most of the lesson has to do with hinging at the hips? In what way is this a torso flexion lesson (not really, I think) (BenP)
