Synopsis
- Lying on your side with your knees bent and together, arms long in front, you lift the top arm towards the ceiling and back towards the floor behind.
Lesson Outline
- Lie on your back; roll your head from side to side.
- Lie on L side, knees bent and together, arms extended in front, resting on the floor, with palms together. Lift the R hand towards the ceiling and as far back as it goes easily, without lifting your R knee from the L, and letting your head turn with your arm. (Reference movement.)
- Stay towards ceiling and lengthen and shorten arm. (Attend to shoulder blade movement.)
- Stay, and rotate arm around axis. (Attend to shoulder blade and chest.)
- Repeat reference movement.
- Rest face up.
- On L side, same position: lift hand towards back and then take head and hand/shoulder in opposite directions.
- Repeat reference movement.
- Lift R hand to back and stay with arm on floor (or hanging in air):
- Roll head L & R
- Take eyes L & R
- Role head and eyes L & R together
- Lie face up, and roll head, comparing sides.
- Stand and walk around.
- Other side: go through the same sequence.
- Then back on L side, lift hand to back and turn so face is to ceiling; place R hand behind head and lift your head with R hand/elbow.
- Repeat reference movement.
- Some on the other side.
- On the L side, lift R hand to back and stay there. Push the R hip forwards (sliding the R knee in front of the L). Feel R shoulder lift.
- Leaving face towards ceiling, interlace fingers of hands behind head and lift your head with both your hands, letting elbows come up.
- Repeat the reference.
- Rest face up.
- Other side.
- Face up, roll head from side to side.
