Synopsis
- This lesson involves spinal flexion and extension in a relatively large number of different positions, both symmetric and asymmetric. Positions include sitting, on all fours, kneeling, sphinx, semi reclined, inter alia.
Lesson Outline
- Lower the head forwards, rounding the back; and move the head backwards, arching the back, in a variety of positions as follows:
- Sitting cross legged
- Sitting and leaning on the hands behind
- Prone, leaning the hands on the floor and lifting the torso
- In sphinx position on the forearms
- Sitting leaning on one hand behind, the leg of the same side long, the other foot standing. Also on the other side
- Supine, semi reclined leaning on the forearms
- On all fours
- On all fours with elbows and hands on the floor
- Standing on the knees with the hands on the hips
- Standing on one knee, the other foot standing, hands on hips. Also on the other side
- Seated cross legged, repeat the initial movement
